“We’re all very comfortable with each other. They notice things in our operation that we walk past every day. We’d be lost without them.”
Longevity & Continuity Add Valuable Perspective
It’s rare that a business relationship lasts through generations of owners and financial advisors. But, the Atwater family and their company, Royal Textile Mills, have worked with Gilliam Coble & Moser for 50+ years, each through two generations. In fact, Royal Textile Mills founder Roy Atwater worked with all three original Gilliam Coble & Moser partners — Fred Gilliam, Calvin Coble and Jimmy Moser — during the years he ran the company.
Roy Atwater’s sons, Mark and Chip, now lead Royal Textile Mills and its tactical clothing brand, Duke, which is among the top 100 vendors to U.S. military exchanges — And the relationship with Gilliam Coble & Moser is still going strong. “We’ve enjoyed remarkable continuity with Gilliam Coble & Moser,” said President Mark Atwater. “We’re all very comfortable with each other. They notice things in our operation that we walk past every day.”
Vice President Chip Atwater agrees. “We work very closely with them on strategic planning and tax matters,” he said. “We have confidence that they’re on top of our tax-planning opportunities, which is a big stress reliever for us. Working with Gilliam Coble & Moser means we don’t have to worry about a lot of things.”
